Fleetinsight create bespoke Proof of Delivery system for DF Services 

DF Services is a vehicle transport and logistics organisation with an established reputation in the finished vehicle delivery market. The company delivers well-known automotive brands such as Subaru and Honda to dealerships across the UK and Europe.

To compete in this highly competitive and price-competitive market, DF Services need to provide a customers with a consistently high quality of service whilst operating within tight economic constraints.

The company needed a secure, accurate and cost-effective  to notify customers of the status of their assets at any time during the dispatch and delivery process. The Fleetinsight team were commissioned to develop a bespoke electronic progress system which could control the communication of delivery to their network of dealers ‘in real-time’.

FleetinsightPOD is a bespoke Proof of Delivery (POD) system with full integration into DF Services back office management. The system satisfies all legal and compliance requirements. The platform is fully automatic, electronic data capture requires no additional hardware or intervention by the driver, and integrates seamlessly with the existing DF Services system to extract and send data during the dispatch and delivery process.

By using the exact location of a vehicle transporter when it arrives at the distributor, the system verifies that a lorry is fully loaded, typically with seven vehicles, and starting its journey. On arrival at the dealership, the system confirms vehicles have been delivered to the correct destination and that the transporter is en-route to the next dealership.

FleetinsightPOD requires no cameras or RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), which eliminates extra man hours spent scanning. The system is fully scalable and is able to track and monitor the dispatch and delivery of thousands of items, making it an attractive alternative to other POD and ePOD systems which often require additional hardware and can be costly to implement.
